Michael Kumeth begann im Alter von 10 Jahren, die Steirische Harmonika zu lernen und spielt außerdem Gitarre. Seit über 25 Jahren musiziert er mit seinem Musikkollegen Andi Stoll als „Ziachduo Andi & Michael“. Mit ihren Eigenkompositionen erfreuen sie das Publikum nicht nur in Deutschland und Österreich, sondern auch in Holland, Japan, Südafrika und Amerika.

Zu ihren zahlreichen Auszeichnungen zählt z.B. der „Weiß-Ferdl-Pokal“. Beim alpenländischen Volksmusikwettbewerb in Innsbruck erhielten sie das Prädikat -sehr gut- und belegten mehrmals die ersten Plätze beim deutschen Harmonikawettbewerb in Inzell.
